(CNN) – Jackie Umuhoza was coming out of a beauty salon in Kigali, the capital of Rwanda, in late November when she was grabbed by five men and bundled into a van, her family says.
Frantic friends and family raised the alarm on social media and discovered that Rwanda’s security forces had detained her on charges of treason and espionage, offenses that carry sentences of up to 25 years imprisonment, according to Amnesty International, which has called for her immediate release.
Rwanda’s Investigation Bureau, through its official social media account, confirmed that she had been detained.
Despite the charges, Umuhoza has still so far not appeared before a court.
Umuhoza, 25, is one of many people perceived as opponents of President Paul Kagame’s government who have been abducted or disappeared.

New York (CNN Business) – From the beginning of the 737 Max crisis, Boeing CEO Dennis Muilenburg severely underestimated how much trouble the company faced. On Monday, that cost him his job.
Muilenburg was stripped of his Boeing chairmanship in October, but the company still expressed confidence in his abilities. Last month, David Calhoun — who replaced Muilenburg as chairman and will take over as CEO in January — praised his predecessor and said the Boeing board thought Muilenburg was the right leader to bring the 737 Max back to service.

(CNN) – A Saudi court’s announcement that five people have been sentenced to death for the murder of journalist Jamal Khashoggi leaves more unanswered questions than it resolves.
At the time of the murder Qahtani was Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s senior adviser. His role included directing media operations and an online campaign against the government’s critics, including Khashoggi, according to US officials.
(CNN) – A teenager who has been missing for two and half years has been found alive in a closet of a child pornography suspect in west Germany, police said.
Police were searching a home of a 44-year old man suspected of distributing child pornography, when they stumbled on the boy. “The officers discovered a boy in the closet. An investigation showed this was a 15-year old boy who has been missing for a long time,” the Recklinghausen police said in a statement.
